Greetings Grade 12 Students and Parent/Guardians:
As you already know, our Graduation Ceremony has been rescheduled to Thursday October 15, 2020 from 4:30 – 10:00 p.m. at the Paramount Conference & Event Venue located at 222 Rowntree Dairy Road in Vaughan. The viability of this tentative date will be based on Public Health Protocols at that time. We will continue to send more information regarding Graduation in the new year.
In addition to the Fall Graduation Ceremony, the Grade 12 Farewell Planning Committee members have organized a drive-by send off on Thursday June 25th from 4:30 -8:30 p.m. (please view your assigned entry time on the schedule attached), Graduating students of St. Elizabeth C.H.S., will receive a parting gift and a Class of 2020 lawn sign. On this special evening, the staff would like to acknowledge students as this unique school year comes to an end. The health and safety of students and staff remains a top priority for everyone at St. Elizabeth C.H.S. and the Y.C.D.S.B.; therefore, families/students are expected to remain inside their vehicles at all times. Please participants a) MUST complete a Covid Self -Assessment screening prior to arrival HERE b)write the student’s first and last name in large letters on a piece of paper, visible from the passenger side, c) ensure the passenger window or trunk is open so that graduates can receive their memento and lawn sign in a contactless way and d) all households attending MUST complete the vehicle license plate entry form HERE no later than Tuesday June 23, 2020. We hope our graduates and their families take time to drive by the school on this day to enjoy this special sendoff by the administration and staff – let’s take a moment to reflect on their accomplishments and our time together!
In addition to the drive-by sendoff, our committee has prepared a video message for all of our graduating students. This video will be made available on our website, school app and via Twitter. Our objective is to share this tribute on the same evening of June 25th at 7:00 p.m.
As a Catholic community, we will be blessing our grade 12 students with a virtual mass given by Father Peter Choi from St. Andre Bessette Roman Catholic Church. Many thanks to Father Peter Choi for celebrating all that God has given in the last four years of life and study. This ‘journey like no other’ is not only that of this ‘one of a kind’ grad class. The theme of our graduation mass will start from the journey of Mary to her cousin Elizabeth in the hill country of Judea. She, like our graduates, said “Yes” to many things she had not expected. Like Mary, we will focus on all that we have gathered on this journey. We bring all these memories and hopes to the altar, this too, is part of God’s blessing. Please visit our school website and/or the St.E. APP to join the livestream link and participate in the Grad Mass; A Mass for Our Grads: A Journey Like No Other, which will be streamed live from St. Joseph the Worker Parish on Tuesday, June 23 at 7:00 p.m. Click: https://stjw.
Grade 12’s, we are extremely proud of your accomplishments and perseverance over this past year! We hope to see you on June 25th and we look forward to continuing our celebration at our graduation ceremony in the fall. Thank you for your continued support as we strive to provide what is necessary for keeping everyone in our school community safe as we take a moment to honour our graduating class of 2020.
